Will it be correct to say that, for example, "Last Sunday was a usual day", or is it better to use "normal/ordinary" or "typical" in this sentence?

Of the options you suggest, typical would be my first choice, then normal. I’m not so keen on usual.

Why not 'usual'? :) Is 'usual' more about time than about the way something goes?

I think people usually use usual in academic document, for example when you tell a story. For me, I prefer normal to typical because in speaking, that is the most popular word
