Translation Question

How do you translate 'treefolk' into Japanese?

For a project I'm looking for the translation of 'treefolk'. It's in the context of primates, the jungle, etc. The closest I've come to this is 木家族 (tree+ family/household/folk).Is this the correct translation? It's for a charitable organization that is looking to raise funds for primates (as primates dwell in trees, they can be named 'treefolk').どうもありがとう!

How about something like 森林民? It kind of has a nice ring to it.

That's a great suggestion, Isabella. This might be as close as it gets : )
