1.1. As you know, my name is___. Kak ty znAesh, mAyo EEmya ___.

We don't have to use the verb 'to be' in this sentence.

1.2. As you know, my name is___. Kak ty znAesh, menYA zavUt ___.

The pronoun 'you' in Russian has two meanings 'ty' or 'vy'. 'Ty' is used when children, friends and people of the same age (who know each other quite well) talk to each other. You can use 'ty' if you talk to your parents or grandparents.

But for people who are older than you are or of the same age but you don't know them very well, you should say 'vy'.

2. By the way, what city do you live in? - Da, a v kAkom gOrode ty zhivYOsh?

The same with 'vy': 1.1. Kak vy znAete, mAyo EEmya ___. 1.2. Kak vy znAete, menYA zavUt ___. 2. Da, a v kAkom gOrode vy zhivYOte?

One question, listening again, and one recording sounds more lie, "Kak vy znaetche" like there is a 't' sound there. The other one is a clear 'sh' sound like in English. Are those exchanged equally in Russian?

Nate, you're absolutely right! In Russian, one verb has different forms for different pronouns. The verb 'zdrastvuyte' is for the plural 'you' (when you mean 'a group of people') and the respectful 'you' (if you greet older and people you don't know). The pronoun 'you' is translated as 'vy' in this case. While the verb 'zdrastvuy' is for friends and those who are of your age (who you know very well). 'You' in this case in Russian is 'ty'.
