Question

Arabic idioms and their equivalent in English

Fred Williams Fred Williams (0) on 22/01/14

Can you please teach me common Arabic idioms? My pronunciation is really bad, so if you can add a recording too, that'd be very helpful!

Hi Fred, I don't know what kind of Arabic you're learning (is it modern standard Arabic or colloquial Arabic). But I'll assume it's modern standard Arabic, and therefore I'll give you a couple of idioms in modern standard Arabic and their English equivalents.

1- الصديق وقت الضيق = A friend in need is a friend indeed.

2- وعلى الباغي تدور الدوائر = What goes around comes around.
